Based on the essential nature of water as a unifying element, we would like to draw attention to the importance of water as the basis of life and as a good to be protected on earth in Inga Scharf da Silva's reading from her book 'Trauma as a Knowledge Archive' from 2022 about postcolonial memory practices in sacred globalization using the example of the Afro-Brazilian religion Umbanda in German-speaking Europe and Saskia Baumgart's sound and song concert.
In all known mythologies and creation stories of the origin of life in various cultures, water is considered sacred, an element of the feminine and a medium for reflecting the soul. In times of war and insistence on staying grounded, it is important not only to become aware of fire and earth as elements of inspiration and tradition rather than merely as reification of struggle and nationalism, but also to appreciate water as a life-giving and peaceful natural element - as it is also capable of flooding and destruction.

Ausgehend von der Wesenhaftigkeit des Wassers als verbindendes Element, möchten wir in Inga Scharf da Silvas Lesung aus ihrem Buch ›Trauma als Wissensarchiv‹ von 2022 über postkoloniale Erinnerungspraxis in der Sakralen Globalisierung am Beispiel der afrobrasilianischen Religion Umbanda im deutschsprachigen Europa und Saskia Baumgarts Klang- und Gesangskonzert auf die Bedeutsamkeit von Wasser als Lebensgrundlage und als zu schützendes Gut auf der Erde hinweisen.
In allen uns bekannten Mythologien, Schöpfungsgeschichten der Entstehung des Lebens in verschiedenen Kulturen gilt Wasser als heilig, Element des Weiblichen und Medium der Spiegelungen der Seele. In Zeiten des Kriegs und der Beharrung auf Bodenständigkeit ist es bedeutsam, nicht nur Feuer und Erde auch als Elemente von Inspiration und Tradition gewahr zu werden statt lediglich als Verdinglichung von Kampf und Nationalismus, sondern auch das Wasser als lebensspendendes und friedliches Naturelement zu schätzen - da es auch zu Überschwemmungen und Zerstörung fähig ist.
